Today, let’s discuss about an actress whose shot to fame overnight with her first film. Yet, just 2 years later, she decided to marry and settle down. However, after 12 years of marriage, she made a comeback in the industry as her marital life wasn’t perfect as it seemed.

She is none other than Dimple Kapadia. At the age of 15, Dimple made her Bollywood debut alongside  Rishi Kapoor in Bobby (1973). The film was a blockbuster and made two new-age actors overnight stars. However, after its success, she decided to marry one of India’s biggest superstars Rajesh Khanna. The decision to settle down and quit acting after marriage, especially at the beginning of her career shocked fans and the whole film fraternity.

For the unversed, Twinkle was 15 years younger than Rajesh Khanna and used to call herself ‘the biggest fan of Kaka.’ The couple tied the knot in 1973 and welcomed two daughters Twinkle and Rinki Khanna after few years of marriage.

After 12 years, Dimple got separated from Rajesh Khanna and decided to comeback in films. She successfully established herself by starring in successful films like Saagar, Arjun, Narshima, Krantiveer, Janbaaz, Insaniyat Ke Dushman, Ram Lakhan, and Batwara.

Years after separation, Dimple and Rajesh Khanna maintained an amicable relationship and were always seen together at social gatherings. Even during Kaka’s last days, Dimple was always there with him. Despite their cordial relationship, Khanna didn’t leave anything for Dimple after his death and passed on everything to her two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna. Reportedly, he made his will just weeks before his death, and decided to give everything to his daughters including his bungalow Aashirwad, bank accounts and other assets.
