Stabbing case accused consumes poison, admitted to hospital
Lucknow: The man, who had allegedly stabbed a woman living at the house of a former MLA in Madiaon on Jan 21, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital after he consumed poison to evade arrest, police said.
According to cops, they have garnered clinching evidence against the accused, Ankul Kumar, and will arrest him after he is discharged from the hospital.
The woman was admitted to the trauma centre of the King Geroge's Medical University (KGMU) in a critical condition. She was discharged from hospital after undergoing treatment for 10 days.
The police found a motorcycle belonging to Ankul, a resident of Sitapur, from a spot near the crime scene.
Police said that Ankul was married and was acquainted with the victim.
