Pune Airport has launched a state-of-the-art Smart Visual Docking Guidance System (SVDGS) to streamline aircraft parking. This advanced system eliminates the need for manual marshalling, making the process faster, safer, and more efficient.

The SVDGS uses sensors, cameras, and artificial intelligence (AI) to guide pilots to their designated parking bays. It provides real-time information directly to the cockpit, ensuring accurate and quick parking. This system is integrated with the airport’s automated operation control center, reducing the risk of accidents and optimizing parking space usage.

Pune Airport currently has 10 parking bays and 10 aerobridges. With the new system, pilots no longer need ground marshals to guide them. Instead, they receive precise instructions on where to park and connect to aerobridges. This innovation is expected to enhance the airport’s operational efficiency and passenger experience.

The SVDGS is already in use at major airports across the country, but this is the first time it has been implemented in Pune. The system not only improves safety but also maximizes the use of parking spaces, saving time for both airlines and passengers.
