Pvt players to run Rahi guest houses

Lucknow: An agreement between the UP tourism department and a private player was signed on Thursday to operate the Rahi tourist guest house in Khurja, Bulandshahr, under PPP mode. Minister Jaiveer Singh said UP is emerging as a leader in tourism due to increasing interest of travellers.
Agreements for nine more properties will be finalised soon, while 11 properties were already handed over under this model. These agreements are expected to yield positive results in the state's tourism sector. To enhance tourism infrastructure, old and underutilised Rahi Tourist Guest Houses are being transferred to private operators.
The state's rich cultural heritage, historical and religious significance, and abundant natural resources are attracting significant investment in the tourism sector. This, in turn, is creating employment opportunities and contributing to the state's economy.
