Three arrested for performing suspected witchcraft in A.P.’s Krishna district

The Vuyyur Rural police have arrested three persons on Friday (February 7, 2025) for allegedly practising witchcraft in Vuyyur Rural mandal in Krishna district.

The accused were identified as J. Vijay Kumar of Penamaluru, L. Manikanta of Yanamalakuduru and Ch. Haninath Babu of Chinna Ogirala village, said Kankipadu Circle Inspector J. Murali Krishna on Friday.

The accused were performing pujas for the last few days creating panic among the villagers. Following a complaint the police registered a case, said Vuyyur Rural SI Suresh Babu.

A woman, who financially helped the accused in performing the suspected pujas was absconding, Mr. Murali Krishna said.
