CHP seeking witnesses, video in I-10 crash that killed two people
The California Highway Patrol is requesting information from the public regarding a crash on Interstate 10 this week that killed two people and resulted in hours of delayed traffic.
The department has asked anyone who witnessed the crash or recorded video of it to come forward. Additionally, CHP is seeking the driver of a black Chevrolet Trailblazer, with black wheels and a silver trim, who may have witnessed the crash.

The incident was first reported shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, near mile marker 49. CHP said at the time a white Toyota traveling west on the highway abruptly turned into a vehicle and collided with a blue semi-truck trailer. This was quickly followed by the white Toyota colliding with another semi-truck trailer which had broken down on the shoulder of the road. A repair truck parked in front of the disabled vehicle was also involved in the crash.
The maintenance driver of the truck, and the driver of the white Toyota, identified as Fabian Zamora, 31, of Indio, and Carolina Navarrete De Leal, 49, of Coachella, were pronounced dead at the scene.
