Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday hailed the state budget terming it as a "creative intervention" aimed at driving Kerala's development vision.
In a statement, the chief minister said notwithstanding the financial constraints and economic discrimination shown by the Centre, the budget has adopted an approach to strengthen Kerala's development and ensure the welfare of the people.
The focus of the budget is on short-term relief and long-term development.
The chief minister said the government has not imposed any additional burden on the common man for mobilising resources. New avenues have been identified for mobilising revenue.
He said the budget aims to protect the consumers from the price hike, focuses on building a Nava Keralam, emphasises on expanding the knowledge economy, increasing infrastructure facilities, ensuring a secure future for the young and quality of life for all.
