Nantucket Island’s iconic Veranda House will reopen on April 1, 2025, after a complete restoration following a 2022 fire that led to its demolition. Owned by Procaccianti Companies and managed by TPG Hotels & Resorts as part of the Nantucket Resort Collection, the rebuild was carried out in collaboration with the town and historic district commission to preserve its original charm. The property maintains its historic character with a faithful recreation of its size, scale, and signature architectural details, now enhanced with modern amenities, ADA-compliant features, and advanced safety and technology systems.
“This reopening marks a significant milestone, not just for Veranda House, but for the entire Nantucket community. We are deeply thankful for the community’s unwavering support in bringing this iconic property back to life,” says Paul Hitselberger, EVP of Operations for TPG Hotels & Resorts.
Named for its signature wraparound verandas, this distinctive federal-style mansion has been a fixture in Nantucket’s historic district since 1684. The Veranda House features 19 elegant rooms, from Petite Queen accommodations to the luxurious Grand Harborview King, which includes a fireplace and private balcony overlooking Nantucket Harbor. Each room offers spa-inspired en-suite baths with Carrera marble, custom fixtures, and modern walk-in showers.
