Noida: The air quality marginally deteriorated but remained in the ‘moderate' category in Noida and Ghaziabad on Wednesday.
Noida recorded an AQI of 156, while Ghaziabad was at 166. Greater Noida registered a reading of 167 .
Air monitoring station in Noida's Sector 62 recorded an AQI of 162, Sector 1 was at 133, Sector 116's reading was 128 and Sector 125's AQI was 107 – all in the ‘moderate' category.
In Greater Noida, Knowledge Park V and Knowledge Park III landed at 164 and 126 – both ‘moderate'. In Ghaziabad, Indirapuram recorded 147, Vasundhara 142 and Sanjay Nagar 133.
Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) said on Wednesday, the predominant surface wind came from the northwest direction with a wind speed of less than 14 kmph till evening. "It decreased thereafter to less than 10 kmph the same night," the bulletin added.
IITM said on Thursday, the city will record a mainly clear sky.
The predominant surface wind is likely to be from the northwest direction with a wind speed below 10 kmph during morning hours. The wind speed will gradually increase to 14-16 kmph from the northwest direction during the afternoon.
On Wednesday, Noida's minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 12 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius. Currently, Commission for Air Quality Management's GRAP Stage II is in place across Delhi-NCR.
