Man killed in freak accident

Mangaluru: A man died in an accident reported within the Belthangady Traffic police station limits on Wednesday. The deceased is KM Ibrahim. In a complaint, Mohammad Tanveer from Kadirudhyavara village, Beltangady, stated that the incident occurred when he along with his elder brother Hakeem was standing near the Didupe gram panchayat office in Malavantige village, Beltangady.
At that time, a car driven by Mohammad Ashraf was moving from the Didupe gram panchayat office. After dropping off KM Ibrahim, Ibrahim, and Adram, Ashraf allegedly reversed the car and then suddenly drove forward in a reckless and negligent manner, hitting KM Ibrahim, who was standing on the road. As a result of the impact, KM Ibrahim fell forward onto the road.
The driver then allegedly moved the car forward again and immediately reversed, causing serious injuries to Ibrahim, including a head injury, a deep bleeding wound on his right shoulder, and a nasal injury. He received initial treatment at a nearby hospital before being shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru, where he succumbed to his injuries. A case was registered at Beltangady Traffic police station.
