Bengaluru: After a brief hiatus due to knee pain, chief minister
Siddaramaiah resumed official duties Thursday, kicking off marathon pre-budget meetings at his official residence, Kaveri rather than Shakti Bhawan on Racecourse Road where these meetings are usually held.
Siddaramaiah was advised rest by doctors at Manipal Hospitals for a left knee issue, and he had cancelled all his public engagements from Sunday. Although doctors recommended that he rest till Sunday (Feb 9), the CM decided to return to work and proceeded with crucial pre-budget exercises, holding meetings with officials and ministers of 11 departments.
"Doctors had advised him not to put weight on the knee. Since he has been advised not to walk, the CM held pre-budget meetings at Kaveri. The pre-budget exercise must go on since he wants to present the budget early next month," said Naseer Ahmed, political secretary to Siddaramaiah.
On Thursday, Siddaramaiah met with ministers and officials from large and medium industries, infrastructure development, small-scale industries, energy, public works, labour, school education, literacy, food and civil supplies, women welfare and child development, cooperative, and animal husbandry.
