Hollywood producer David Pearce has been found guilty of the murder of model Christy Giles and the sexual assault of seven women in a series of crimes spanning over a decade. A Los Angeles court delivered the verdict on Monday, holding Pearce accountable for a string of violent attacks that have shocked the entertainment industry.
Giles, a 24-year-old model, was found dead in November 2021, her body dumped outside a hospital in Los Angeles. Investigators traced her last known interactions to Pearce, who, along with two other men, had allegedly drugged and assaulted her before leaving her body behind. Another woman, Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, was also abandoned at a separate hospital and later died of a drug overdose.
Prosecutors presented evidence of Pearce’s pattern of predatory behavior, with multiple women testifying that he had drugged and assaulted them in incidents dating back to 2010. Some victims described waking up in his home with no memory of the previous night, while others recalled being forcibly restrained.
Pearce, previously known for his ties to Hollywood’s elite, now faces life in prison. His sentencing is expected in the coming weeks. The case has reignited discussions on sexual violence in the entertainment industry, with advocates calling for stronger protections for women. Authorities have urged any other potential victims to come forward.
