HYDRAA cracks the whip on those encroaching two lakes

Hyderabad: A DRF team of Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) seized four tippers dumping soil into Umda Sagar Lake in the Bandlaguda police station limits on Monday midnight. An earthmover, which was being used to level the dumped soil, was also seized. The vehicles were handed over to the Bandlaguda police, and cases were filed against those responsible.
Similarly, in Devulapalli (Samar Kunta) Lake, under the Petbasheerabad police station limits, a tipper was caught dumping soil illegally on Monday night. The truck was handed over to police.
"HYDRAA has intensified surveillance to prevent the illegal dumping of soil and household waste into lakes and govt land," HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath said.
The commissioner also directed HYDRAA officials to immediately remove boundary walls constructed around colonies if they encroach upon public roads. The commissioner emphasised that roads should remain accessible as per the original layout plans. TNN
