Two killed, two injured in Medchal accidents

Two persons were killed and two sustained injuries in separate road accidents involving lorries in Medchal on Tuesday.

In the first case, E. Ushappa, a 40-year-old labourer from Karnataka, was killed after the two-wheeler he was riding collided with a lorry at Medchal checkpost in the early hours of Tuesday. Two others including Bandari Anjaneyulu, 23, and Chekunta Srinivasu, 30, who were riding pillion, sustained injuries.

According to the police, Ushappa was taking a u-turn at Medchal checkpost when the lorry rammed into the bike. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

In another case, Sricharan, 28, a resident of Kamareddy was killed after a speeding lorry ran over him near Rekula Bavi X roads in Medchal.

According to the police, Sricharan was travelling from Kamareddy to Medchal when the speeding lorry hit his two-wheeler from the right side. The lorry ran over him.

The police have not revealed the names of accused lorry drivers in both the cases.
