Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai and his producer-wife Mukta Ghai purchased a luxurious 4BHK apartment in Mumbai's upscale Bandra area for Rs 24 crore. The property, located in 81 Aureate, is developed by MJ Shah Group and is spread across 4.48 acres, primarily featuring premium 4BHK apartments.
According to media reports, the transaction took place in February 2025. The apartment boasts a carpet area of 4,364 sq. ft. and a built-up area of 5,239 sq. ft. Additionally, the deal includes three car parking spaces.
As per Square Yards, the purchase involved a stamp duty payment of Rs 1.44 crore and registration charges of Rs 30,000.
Also, the average monthly rent for similar properties in the building is reportedly around Rs 8.5 lakh.
In December 2024, Ghai made headlines due to his health. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra after he fell ill due to his hectic stint at the 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
Ghai started his career in Bollywood as an actor. He did small roles in films like Taqdeer and Aaradhna. Later he did played lead roles in films like Umang and Gumrah. However, his career as an actor did not see much success following which he switched to direction.
He is known fordirecting films like Kalicharan, Vishwanath, Karz, Hero, Meri Jung, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes and Taal. In 2006, he received the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues for producing the social problem film Iqbal.
He last produced and wrote the comedy-drama streaming movie '36 Farmhouse' which was released in 2022.
