Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday attended the appointment letter distribution function for a total of 6,837 newly appointed junior engineers and instructors. At the event held at the Samvad hall of the Chief Minister's Secretariat, he symbolically handed over appointment letters to 10 candidates.
At the function, appointment letters were distributed among 6,341 junior engineers across various departments and 496 instructors under the labour resources department. Addressing the ceremony, the CM expressed his happiness over the distribution of appointment letters among the newly appointed junior engineers and instructors.
"We are once again touring all the districts of the state to understand people's problems and needs. We will promptly address the issues and requirements we identify during the ongoing Pragati Yatra. Large-scale recruitment will also be done. Vacant positions in different departments are being identified for this purpose," Nitish said.
"Before 2005, the situation in Bihar was quite dire, as you all are aware. We have been working from the beginning to make Bihar a developed state. We are receiving full support from the Union govt," the CM said. "I expect all newly appointed candidates to fulfil their responsibilities properly. Once again, I congratulate and extend my best wishes to all the newly appointed candidates," Nitish said.
The new appointees include 2,338 candidates selected by the water resources department, 1,273 by the planning and development department, 759 by the rural works department, 530 by the road construction department, 484 by the minor water resources department, 478 by the public health engineering department, 430 by the building construction department and 49 by the urban development and housing department. He thanked all the departments involved in the selection process.
At the beginning, the water resources department's principal secretary Santosh Kumar Mall welcomed the CM with a bouquet. The secretary of the labour resources department, Deepak Anand, gave the vote of thanks.
The event was also attended by deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, water resources and parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, energy, planning and development minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, rural works minister Ashok Choudhary, urban development and housing minister Nitin Nabin, public health and engineering minister Neeraj Kumar Singh, minor water resources minister Santosh Kumar Suman, labour resources minister Santosh Kumar Singh, building construction minister Jayant Raj, panchayati raj minister Kedar Prasad Gupta, chief secretary Amrit Lal Meena and the CM's principal secretary S Siddharth.
