Textile, garments combined for first time
State govt has included garments manufacturing in its textile policy for the first time, with an aim to attract investments of Rs 10,000 crore and create job opportunities for 2 lakh people over the next five years. While traditional handloom and textile handicraft retain priority, there is also a thrust on technical textiles because of their burgeoning market. Incentives have been given for research and development to create high-performance fabrics used in specialised applications. The policy also seeks to promote greenfield private industrial parks for manufacture and processing of textile and apparel. The parks will be eligible for incentives under Rajasthan Private Industrial Park Scheme 2025. The policy offers financial incentives, exemptions, and reimbursements as per Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme, which includes cheaper land. tnn
