Pune: National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) plans to set up a foreign language centre in Pune considering the demand for a skilled workforce in Germany, Japan and Australia. Proficiency in these languages will be a boost for the Indian workforce.
NSDC has sent 100 certified nurses over the past two months to Germany and plans to send another batch of 1,000 nurses where there is demand. CEO Ved Mani Mishra was in Pune at the third Vishwa Marathi Sammelan to unveil the NSDC cellphone application in Marathi and Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) portal. "We collaborate with industry partners to offer targeted language training courses that meet real-world demands, ensuring relevance and practicality for national and global success," Mishra said.
The unveiling included a video that demonstrated the platform's potential to connect youths with over 50,000 industry partners and 5.5 lakh apprenticeship opportunities. The platform will include industry-specific skill modules, certification programmes, and employer-led training programmes for job readiness.
