Youth shot at over old rivalry

Ludhiana: A youth received a bullet injury after he confronted the men who allegedly kidnapped and attacked his friend. As per reports, three motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly kidnapped 22-year-old Ankush of Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar, who was going from Guru Teg Bahadur Chowk to Beri Colony on foot, and hit him on the head with bricks. When Abhijeet came to know about this, he went to meet the assailants, who fired at him.
Sources said that a bullet hit the victim on the thigh, after which the assailants ran away. They added that the injured youth was taken to DMCH by his friends. Ankush said that the motorcycle-borne miscreants kidnapped him on their bike after hitting him on his head and took him to Chauhan Nagar and another area, where they beat him up. He added that he managed to escape and told his friend Abhishek about it. Abhishek went to see the accused, who shot at him.
ACP South Harjinder Singh said that the youths had an old rivalry from college. He added that a case is being registered in the matter.
