Turkiye’s general consumer price index (CPI) rose by 5.03 per cent month on month (MoM) and 42.12 per cent year on year (YoY) in January this year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat).It rose by 56.35 per cent on the twelve-months moving averages basis the month.

The clothing-footwear CPI rose by 27.53 per cent YoY in the month, while it dropped by 5.17 per cent MoM. CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold increased by 5.47 per cent MoM and 42.08 per cent YoY.
Transportation (23.14 per cent) was the main group that indicated the lowest annual increase.
The CPI for clothing and footwear rose by 27.53 per cent YoY in the month, while it dropped by 5.17 per cent MoM.
CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold increased by 5.47 per cent MoM and 42.08 per cent YoY. On a twelve-months moving averages basis, it rose by 56.05 per cent in January 2025.
