Court orders voice-identification test for accused in Anna University sexual assault case

A court in Saidapet has ordered to conduct a voice identification test on Gnanasekaran who was arrested in connection with a sexual assault case in Anna University campus.

He had allegedly filmed the assault and blackmailed the survivor. The incident took place on December 23 and he was arrested by the city police on December 25. He was booked for rape and sexual harassment, said police.

He was also interrogated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) — constituted by the Madras High Court — to investigate the case. After custodial interrogation, he was remanded to judicial custody.
