Teacher held for sexual harassment in Erode

An English teacher at the Government Higher Secondary School in Bhavanisagar was arrested by the police on Monday for sexually harassing a student.

According to the police, Dhandapani, 55, lured the girl with chocolates and committed the crime. The girl informed her parents, who reported the issue to Childline 1098. A complaint was lodged with the Bhavanisagar police, and after an inquiry, the teacher was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. He was produced in a court in Gobichettipalayam and remanded in custody.
