BU PG student found dead on hostel campus

A 21-year-old postgraduate student of Bangalore University was found dead in the hostel on the Jnanabharathi campus on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Pawana H.N., from H.D. Kote, was a second year student of the Kannada Study Centre. She was staying at Ramabai Ambedkar Women’s Hostel.

Pawana was found dead in her hostel room around 11 p.m. Her hostel mates alerted the staff and the jurisdictional Jnanabharathi police later.

The police, along with FSL team, conducted the investigation before shifting her body for post-mortem. The police are verifying the reason for her extreme step and inquiring with her hostel mates and friends for further investigation. 

The police have informed the parents and are waiting to record their statement based on which necessary action will be taken, a senior police officer said.
