Jeweller accuses man of fleeing with over 50kg silver
Kanpur: A jeweller has accused a craftsman of absconding with over 50kg silver taken from him in the name of making anklets in Chowk Sarafa area of the city. The police have launched a search to nab him.
Ajay Jain, a jeweller residing on second floor of Balaji Market in Chowk Sarafa, told police that Rajveer Singh Chaudhary from Radha Archit Mesani, Govindnagar, Mathura, took over 50kg of pure silver from him on Sept 16, 2018, to make anklets. Due to pandemic, he could not take the silver back from him and since then Rajveer has been making excuses.
On Dec 9, 2022, Rajveer promised Ajay to return all the silver in 15 days but then he stopped answering calls. Ajay visited Rajveer's house with a friend, where Rajveer again assured him to return the silver soon. However, he did not return the silver and is absconding.
Kotwali In-charge Jagdish Pandey said that a report has been filed against Rajveer for criminal breach of trust, and action is being taken.
