Bhopal: While many young professionals aspire to study abroad and secure high-profile jobs, some choose unconventional paths to redefine success. Harshit Godha, a 22-year-old from Bhopal, is one such individual who left a promising corporate career overseas to venture into agriculture.
After completing his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in London, Harshit opted out of a job offer and instead pursued specialized agricultural training in Israel. Inspired by a simple encounter with Israeli avocados during his time in London, he became intrigued by the advanced farming techniques used to cultivate high-value crops. Determined to bring this expertise to India, he underwent intensive training in Israel, focusing on sustainable and high-yield farming practices.
In 2019, Harshit launched his agricultural venture, Indo-Israel Avocado(https://indoisraelavocado.com/), in Bhopal. Starting with five acres of land and 1,800 avocado trees, he leveraged Israeli technology and modern farming techniques to build a profitable business. His journey was not without challenges, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted his efforts to import avocado plants. However, by 2021, he successfully imported 20,000 plants, setting the foundation for large-scale cultivation.
Today, Harshit earns over ₹1 crore annually from avocado farming and plant sales. His success extends beyond personal achievements, as he now supplies avocado plants to farmers in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. He also provides free guidance, sharing his knowledge through blogs, an e-book, and a YouTube channel aimed at educating aspiring farmers.
Harshit’s vision goes beyond individual success. He believes in creating employment and opening new opportunities for others, reinforcing his philosophy that success is not just about working for big corporations but about building something meaningful. As he continues to expand his farming operations, his journey stands as an inspiration for young entrepreneurs to explore innovation in agriculture.
