Lucknow: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation is preparing a detailed property register of its land following a survey of 25 villages to document the extent and details of illegal occupations.
This initiative aims to take action against individuals who are illegally occupying municipal land. Mayor Sushma Kharakwal, after a meeting with officials, directed strict measures to reclaim govt land from encroachers.
The corporation surveyed 25 villages, including Kalli Paschim, Sarosa Bharosa, Sadarouna, Malhpur, Bijnaur Salempur, Patora, Behta, Semra, Uttar Dhona, Natkur, Farrukhabad, and Barharpur. Data on illegal encroachers in these villages has been collected, and action will soon be initiated. The survey is part of a larger effort covering more than 100 villages.
Over the past 10 months, the corporation has reclaimed 86 acres of land from illegal encroachments. Legal cases have been filed against 25 individuals involved in such activities, including encroachments near Vardaan Lawn and Season Hotel. Then mayor emphasised the need for the swift resolution of complaints and announced plans to demarcate boundaries in cleared areas to prevent future encroachments.
