Mohali: In a move to enhance public safety and security, Mohali police have established a state-of-the-art ‘modern police beat box' at Miapur Changer village, New Chandigarh. This initiative, aimed at strengthening law enforcement infrastructure and ensuring better vigilance, was inaugurated by Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar and Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek on Friday.

He said that through this initiative, Mohali will be developed as a model district, where the security system will be further strengthened.
He said that every village has been covered under this scheme, ensuring safety in rural areas as well. Additionally, PCR (police control room) vans will be able to stop at these booths during patrols, making the security system more effective.
DIG Bhullar also said that criminals will be closely monitored, and these booths will help facilitate investigations. He added that the presence of these booths along the district boundaries will aid in crime prevention and prove beneficial for the entire district.
Moreover, the entire area will be monitored through CCTV cameras, further enhancing the security system, he added.
Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek emphasised the importance of modern policing tools in maintaining public safety. He said, "The modern police beat is equipped with advanced safety devices, which will play a crucial role in improving security and ensuring a safer environment for residents and commuters in the vicinity."
