Varanasi: The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI)- South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) in Varanasi successfully concluded a transformative training programme on rice and millet cookie production and micro-enterprise development from Jan 27 to 31. Organised under the project ‘Promoting Self-Help Group-Led Entrepreneurship through Rice Value Addition,' this initiative empowered 10 women self-help groups (WSHGs) members from various districts of Odisha, along with two state officials nominated by the Department of Mission Shakti, govt of Odisha.
The inaugural session was graced by Rabe Yahaya, senior scientist, who delivered an inspiring address, encouraging participants to leverage food processing as a means of economic empowerment.
The valedictory session featured T. C. Dhoundiyal, head of IRRI India Corporate Support Services, who commended the participants for their dedication and lauded the organisers for their seamless execution of the programme. TNN
