Bengaluru: Six people, including an 11-year-old boy, sustained burn injuries following a fireball explosion due to an LPG leak during a housewarming ceremony near Doddaballapura Friday midnight.
The incident took place at the newly-constructed house of agriculturist Gurusiddappa in Dargajogihalli. The injured — Ravi Kumar, 41, Varshita, 28, Anasuya, 37, Bhagyamma, 55, Chirant, 11, and Mithun, 14 — were the farmer's close relatives and were shifted to a private hospital in Doddaballapura town.
Investigations revealed that after dinner, everyone was asleep when the gas leaked, igniting the fire.Neighbours and other family members poured water on the fire, and soon, one fire tender reached the spot.
"All the injured are in ICU. Doctors said they are doing fine now, but should be under observation," police said.
