Son of yesteryear superstar Vinod Khanna, Akshaye made his debut in 1997 with the film Himalay Putra which turned out to be a huge flop at the box office. However, in the same year, he starred in a superhit film Border that changed his destiny forever. Over the years, he has been a part of several hit films including Taal, Hulchul, Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz, Race, Mom, Drishyam 2 and more.

We are all aware of his Bollywood career, but the actor has always been shy to discuss his personal life. As per reports in the late 1990s, Akshaye Khanna was in a romantic relationship with Karisma Kapoor. In fact, Karisma’s father Randhir Kapoor wanted his daughter to marry Akshaye and even sent a marriage proposal to his home. However, Babita Kapoor was against this, as her daughter was at the peak of her career. She didn’t want Karisma to leave the showbiz and sit at home after marriage.
Akshaye and Karisma would have certainly been married if the actress’s mother had not objected to the match.
At the age of 49, Akshaye is single. However, he once expressed his desire to date the former Chief Minster of Tamil Nadu, the late Jayalalithaa, who was 27 years older than him at that time.
