Prashanth Sambargi booked on complaint by Prakash Rai

Mysuru: City police registered an FIR against Prashanth Sambargi on charges of forgery following a complaint by actor Prakash Rai.
Lakshmipuram police received the complaint from the actor on Saturday. In his complaint, Prakash Rai accused Sambargi of insulting him by posting his photo along with a misleading headline on Facebook and sought action against him.
Rai sent an email complaint to the office of the commissioner of police two days earlier, and on Saturday, he visited the station to register the FIR.
According to the actor, Sambargi wrongly portrayed him taking a holy dip at the ongoing Kumbh Mela by posting his morphed photo on the social networking site. Rai said Sambargi was allegedly involved in spreading false and distorted news about him and spreading hatred.
Lakshmipuram police have registered a case under Section 366 (4) of BNS.
