Bihar native held for firing at two youths in Jaipur’s Kardhani
Jaipur: The Jaipur police Friday arrested a 20-year-old Bihar native for firing at two youths in the Kardhani police station area of the city on Jan 24.
DCP (West) Amit Kumar stated that the accused, identified as Nagendra Singh alias Honey Singh, was involved in the shooting that took place on the evening of Jan 24 in Shri Ram Nagar Extension. Some attackers fired four to five rounds from a pistol at two youths, Vaibhav Ojha and his friend Mukund Kumawat, while they were at a tea stall. The shots were fired from a car.
Both victims sustained injuries and were hospitalised. A case was registered, and a special team was formed under close supervision to investigate the crime. The team gathered intelligence and evidence, working to link the conspirators involved in the attack. Three accused were arrested, including Rakesh Meena, a history-sheeter from Kalwar police station, Shakti Saini, the owner of the car used in the crime, and Vansh Jogi on Jan 26. The car used in the incident was also recovered.
Subsequently, the main accused, Nagendra alias Honey, was absconding since the crime. Multiple police teams were formed to track him down, and raids were conducted at suspected hideouts. Through intelligence gathering and technical assistance, police discovered that Singh was in Uttar Pradesh. A team was promptly dispatched, and he was arrested after interrogation.
Police stated that the accused attempted to flee after the incident, injuring himself in the process. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. They also revealed that Singh had a prior case registered under the SC/ST Atrocities Act at the Harmada police station, where he was wanted for investigation.
