The Judicial First Class Magistrate court, Chottanikkara, remanded a 25-year-old man who was reportedly accused of attempting to rape and murder a 19-year-old girl in her house at Chottanikkara in 14 days’ judicial custody on Thursday (January 30).
Anoop, an accused in multiple cases at Thalayolaparambu and Peerumedu, was arrested from his house at Thalayolaparambu in the early hours of Wednesday (January 29). He was allegedly accused of brutally assaulting the victim who was found in a critical state at her house on Sunday (January 26) evening. The police will move for his custody.
The victim who continues to be on ventilator support remains in a critical state. Incidentally, the victim was reportedly a survivor in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act a couple of years ago.
