Tesla shares closed down 2.3% at $389.08 on Wednesday before its pivotal fourth-quarter earnings report.
The performance of other large tech stocks was mixed. Nvidia shares lost 4%. Amazon stock dropped 0.5%. Alphabet shares gained 0.1%.
Like Tesla, Meta Platforms and Microsoft report quarterly results on Wednesday afternoon. Meta shares gained 0.3%. Microsoft fell 1.1%.
