Who doesn’t love watching romantic movies? One such film, released in 2000, made us believe in love. It was a major commercial success-made on a budget of Rs 10 crore, the movie earned Rs 80 crore. Directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan, it marked the debut of lead actor and actress. The film was inducted into the Guinness World Records (2002) for winning the most awards for a feature film,a total of 92 awards across various ceremonies and categories. We are talking about Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, where Hrithik Roshan played a double role as Rohit and Raj. The movie also introduced Ameesha Patel to the industry, and she received recognition for her role as Sonia.
Her success continued with the Telugu action film Badri and the blockbuster period drama Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), which earned her the Filmfare Special Performance Award. However, after starring in Humraaz and Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai (both 2002), Patel’s career saw a decline. She later took on supporting roles in films such as Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and Race 2 (2013).

Ameesha Patel once had the opportunity to work with Shah Rukh Khan, but an unfortunate incident with her manager cost her the chance. In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, she revealed that she never rejected Chalte Chalte, starring SRK and Rani Mukerji, in fact, she wasn’t even informed about the offer. She discovered this by chance while dubbing for Humraaz, when she ran into Shah Rukh Khan at the recording studio. He mentioned wanting to show her the film she had supposedly turned down, leaving her shocked. It was only later that she realised her manager had deceived her.
