Ahmedabad: Sardarnagar police registered a case of murder and attempted murder following a fatal attack on a corporate staff bus driver and an assault on his companion using sharp weapons.
On Thursday, the deceased driver's 34-year-old wife lodged a police complaint against four persons, three of whom remain unidentified. According to her statement, her husband left for work on Wednesday morning but did not return by 8.30pm. Upon calling, he informed her of reaching Naroda Patiya and assured her that he would reach home soon.
Subsequently, the complainant's multiple attempts to contact her husband proved futile, and his mobile phone was switched off. While searching for her husband, she arrived at a Shreeji Temple where she noticed a crowd and traffic congestion. "I parked my scooter and went to see what was happening. There, I found my husband lying on the footpath in a pool of blood," the complainant stated.
She later discovered from relatives that her husband and his friend were assaulted with sharp weapons by a local resident and three unidentified individuals. The assailant, now named in the FIR, allegedly caused the immediate death of the woman's husband while his friend was hospitalised.
