Former Pak cricketer praises Adani for Kumbh seva
Prayagraj: Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria on Saturday praised industrialist Gautam Adani for providing free meals to crores of devotees at Maha Kumbh.
"This is exactly why forces around the world are working relentlessly to bring this man down. He's dedicating his wealth and resources to serving Sanatan Dharma, not pandering to any ecosystem," the former right arm leg spinner posted on X.
"As someone from a Gujarati Hindu family, I take immense pride in having you (Adani) as part of our community," he said while reacting to Adani's post. Kaneria had played 61 Tests and 18 ODIs for Pakistan.
In a post in Hindi on X, Adani on Friday had said: "We are blessed to have the auspicious opportunity to serve millions of devotees on the divine occasion of Maha Kumbh. Service is sadhna, service is prayer and service is God. May the blessings of Maa Ganga remain on all of us."
The Adani Group and Iskcon have joined hands to serve meals to devotees at the Maha Kumbh, with more than 5,000 employees of the group providing ‘seva'. The mahaprasad seva is being offered for the entire duration of the Kumbh Mela, from Jan 13 to Feb 26.
Gautam Adani along with his family, including wife Preeti, had visited Maha Kumbh on Tuesday.
