Patriotic fervour, gaiety mark Republic Day celebrations in districts

Cuddalore Collector distributed welfare assistance worth ₹1.06 crore to 100 beneficiaries.

Honouring of freedom fighters, recognition of the services of government employees and police personnel, and distribution of welfare assistance marked the 76th Republic Day celebrations in Cuddalore, Villupuram and Kallakurichi districts on Sunday (January 26, 2025).

In Cuddalore, Collector Sibi Adhithya Sentil Kumar unfurled the national flag at the Anna Stadium and took the salute, along with Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar.

The Collector also honoured 201 government employees for their commendable and meritorious services. He also presented them with certificates of merit and appreciation.

The Collector distributed welfare assistance worth ₹1.06 crore to 100 beneficiaries.

Villupuram

Villupuram Collector C. Palani unfurled the national flag at the Armed Reserve grounds here.

Mr. Palani received the received the guard of honour from the police and distributed welfare assistance to 29 beneficiaries at a cost of ₹ 8.82 lakh. He distributed certificates of appreciation to 309 best-performing employees of the various departments.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Villupuram Range) Disha Mittal, Villupuram Superintendent of Police P. Saravanan, and other senior officials participated.

Kallakurichi

Patriotic fervour and gaiety marked the Republic Day celebrations at Kallakurichi district.

Kallakurichi Collector M.S. Prasanth unfurled the national flag during the celebration at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School. The Collector received the salute during the parade by the contingents.

He presented appreciation certificates to 377 government officials besides giving away the Chief Minister’s Police Medal to 28 police personnel. Students from various schools in the district presented cultural programmes.
