In the heart of Mumbai, often referred to as the “city of dreams," Bachchan’s opulent residences stand as a testament to his illustrious career and taste for grandeur.Having said that, the actor recently made headlines by selling his luxurious duplex apartment in Oshiwara, Mumbai. The cinematic king, who bought the property in April 2021 for a whopping Rs 31 crore, sold it for a staggering Rs 83 crore.

Jalsa
A kilometre away from Prateeksha, this house is spread across 10,125 sq ft. Jalsa, a name that means ‘celebration,’ is the bungalow where the Bachchan family currently resides. This two-storey bungalow worth Rs 100 Crore was a gift from director Ramesh Sippy after Bachchan’s role in Satte Pe Satta. The home features a lush green garden and multiple living areas that blend traditional and modern design elements. The interior is adorned with vibrant artworks and exquisite silver showpieces, creating a regal atmosphere. One of the highlights of this house is a traditional South Indian Tanjore painting that served as a backdrop for several family photos.
Janak
Bought in 2004, this property is close to Jalsa and serves as the office for Big B. The building, valued at approximately Rs 50 crore, is said to have a gym that is often visited by the Bachchan family. Janak, which means ‘father,’ is equipped with polished wooden floors and plush leather armchairs that create an inviting atmosphere for productivity.
Prateeksha, Juhu
Valued at more than Rs 50 crore, the family purchased this Juhu house in 1976. Before relocating to Jalsa, the Shahenshah of Bollywood used to reside here with his late parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan.Prateeksha was also the venue for the grand wedding of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Raiin 2007. The house was later gifted by Amitabh Bachchan to his daughter, Shweta Nanda. It is worth noting thatthe actor has preserved his parent’s rooms just the way they were when they were alive.
Vatsa
Located in Juhu, this is the smallest of all Bachchan’s properties in Mumbai. Vatsa, which means ‘calf,’is one of his more modest residences and has been leased out to Citibank India. This property contributes to Bachchan’s real estate empire.
Hold on to your horses. Besides these iconic properties in India, Big B also owns a house in Paris, France, which is reportedly gifted to him by his wife, Jaya Bachchan. He also has some opulent apartments in his name.
As per property registration documents accessed by Square Yards, Amitabh purchased four apartments valued at approximately Rs 10.18 crore. He also has a Rs 24.95 crore apartment in Mulund alongside his son Abhishek and two apartments in Juhu, Mumbai, which are estimated to be worth about Rs 40 crore and Rs 1.75 crore, respectively.
