Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya starrer Sky Force was released yesterday. The movie got positive reviews, and it was expected to take a good start at the box office. A double digit opening was expected and that has happened. According to the makers, the movie on its day 1 has collected Rs. 15.30 crore which is very good.

The film needed a good start to maintain well over the weekend. If the movie shows a jump on Saturday and Sunday, then we can expect that in three days the film will surpass Rs. 50 crore mark. However, if it doesn't show a growth and stays stable, still it can collect Rs. 46-48 crore in its first weekend which is not bad. It is a sigh of relief for Akshay Kumar as Sky Force has opened better than his last few releases.

Sky Force is being compared to Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter for multiple reasons. Both the movies are based on IAF, inspired by true incidents, and released during Republic Day. So, if we compare the opening numbers, Fighter had a bigger opening.

The Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer had collected Rs. 24.60 crore on its day 1, and Sky Force has minted Rs. 15.30 crore. The lifetime collection of Fighter was Rs. 205.55 crore, so let's see if Sky Force will be able to beat that or not.

Well, on Thursday night, before the release of Sky Force, Siddharth Anand, director of Fighter had shared a cryptic post, and people started wondering if he is talking about the Akshay Kumar starrer.

Siddharth had posted, "Hahahaha!! Insecurity hits new lows! I feel so important today! Have faith in your own self! Come on yo!! An old saying - By blowing off another candle, won’t make yours burn brighter! But alas…"

One major negative point for Sky Force is that the Republic Day falls on a Sunday, so the extra holiday is missing here. However, it is expected that the movie will show a jump during the weekend.
