AAP to announce mayor candidate today

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will announce its mayor candidate just before filing the papers today, the last date to file the papers. The BJP and Congress have already announced their candidates.
Though BJP and Congress candidates filed the papers earlier, since the notification of the election was issued afresh, they will have to file the papers again today. As per information, the candidates will file their papers after the afternoon hours.
The nomination papers will be filed before the secretary of the MC in his office in the MC building.
From BJP, Harpreet Kaur Babla is the candidate for the mayor post, while Bimla Dubey and Lakhbir Singh will contest for the posts of senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor.
In Congress, Jasbir Singh and Taruna Mehta have been declared the candidates for the senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor posts.
