Chandrapur: A 37-year-old farmer from Matoda village in Bhandara district was killed in a tiger attack in the early hours of Friday. The incident occurred when the farmer, identified as Rajesh Tarachand Selokar, was trying to divert canal water in his field.
Officials said after Selokar failed to return home after work, his brother Vijay launched a search for him. Drag marks and bloodstains were found near the canal adjoining the field, indicating that a wild animal had dragged the victim's body into the forest. A search operation, conducted with the help of local villagers, led to the discovery of body in the nearby forest area.
