Vadodara: Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday created a ruckus at Anandalaya, a prominent school in the milk city of Anand.
Managed by Anandalaya Education Society, Anandalaya is run from the campus of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
On Saturday, ABVP members entered the school premises and surrounded the school principal, demanding an explanation from him on a number of matters. Later, members of the outfit resorted to sloganeering and performed ‘Ram Dhun', after which the school management approached Anand police.
Even as a team from Anand town police reached the school to pacify the protestors, members of the ABVP continued their protest. The cops entered the school, evicted the protestors, detained them and took them to Anand town police station.
ABVP leader Tilak Patel alleged that the school collects Rs 500 as admission form fees against the permitted sum of Rs 100. Similarly, the ABVP members alleged that the school collects fees that are not in accord with directives of the fee regulatory committee, conducts verbal and written interviews of parents who are seeking admission for their wards, and even conducts interviews of four-year-old children for admission to Junior KG.
The student outfit threatened to intensify its protest if the school does not stop these practices, which the protestors said are in violation of directives.
