In the Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, the police have recovered almost all major evidence, including the shoes of the accused, Shariful Islam, 30. Additionally, the police have taken the actor's blood sample for forensic testing. A police officer stated that the investigation is almost at its final stage. However, the accused's facial recognition test is yet to be conducted.

On Friday, in the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bandra, the public prosecutor stated that they need to investigate the accused's associates. The police are also investigating whether any Bangladeshi friends or relatives of the accused are living in India. However, an officer confirmed that he is the only accused in the case.

Meanwhile, the source of the weapon and the person who provided it to the accused remain uncertain. They need to determine from whom and how the accused obtained a SIM card registered under the name Vijay Das.

The police have already recovered the accused's blood-stained clothes. The actor's blood sample has also been collected and sent for forensic testing. The police are awaiting the test results. They are also reviewing additional CCTV footage to strengthen the evidence in the case.

The police are investigating the actual motive behind the attack. Since the accused is a Bangladeshi national, they are examining his reason for being in India and whether anyone supported him during his stay.

Currently, the police are meticulously investigating minor details, such as the date the accused entered India and how many days he has been living in the country. They are also checking whether he has committed similar crimes in India in the past.

On January 16, at 2 a.m., the accused allegedly broke into actor Saif Ali Khan's Bandra West residence and attempted to murder him. The Bandra police arrested the accused in Thane on January 19. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused is a Bangladeshi national who entered India illegally.

A police team has traveled to Kolkata to investigate how Shariful obtained a SIM card there using the documentation of an Indian national.
