The Le Gala des Pieces Jaunes charity concert was recently held at the Paris La Defense Arena, drawing likes of popular K-pop artists like BTS star J-Hope, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and Taeyang, and even BLACKPINK diva Rose. J-Hope, who has been recently busy with his work commitments following his discharge from the military, also marked his first live stage performance at the event, leaving the audiences enthralled. The K-pop idol opened the charity gala with a three-song set of his solo and group hits, including On the Street from 2024’s Hope on the Street Vol. 1 mini-LP and More from his debut solo album, Jack in the Box.

Despite J-Hope’s thrilling appearance at the Le Gala des Pieces Jaunes, a section of fans called out the event organisers for being disrespectful towards the artist and the ARMY. Many pointed out an unsettling pattern of the singer being left out of some key moments, like avoiding his name during performance rundowns and even remaining ignorant toward the BTS fans.

The ARMY concluded that the actions were not just a small oversight but rather intentional, leaving them upset and angry. Fans took to social media platforms and slammed the event for biased behaviour.

A fan wrote, “The host on TikTok live is so biased. She’s supposed to interview fans but went straight to 3 GD fans and then went to a bunch of fans without lightsticks, and when they screamed, J-Hope left straight to the one with BP lightsticks… She seems pissed when fans claim J-Hope," pointing out the stark difference between the treatment toward fans. Another added, “The amount of disrespect they are giving to J-Hope and ARMY is insane. They intentionally skip mentioning his name and don’t interview ARMYs with lightsticks, which is obviously the majority of the crowd. Are you going to piss me off right now?"

A fan also shared a detailed post, chalking the number of disturbing instances toward J-Hope, BTS music and his fandom. The user even accused the event host of remaining biased towards BLACKPINK singer Rose.

Even though J-Hope was requested to open the event, fans could not help but express their anger over the disrespect towards him throughout the evening.

A fundraising event, which aims to support hospitalised children and teenagers, is organised by the Operation Pieces Jaunes Foundation. Besides the K-pop stars, the show also featured performances from Katy Perry, John Legend, J Balvin and Burna Boy, among others. Meanwhile, J-Hope is also ready for his upcoming first-ever solo tour, Hope on the Stage.
