Five drug peddlers held in Velachery

The city police has arrested five men for allegedly indulging in drug peddling from an apartment in Velachery. 

Following a tip off, a special team of police, led by Velachery Police Inspector, monitored the movement around an apartment on Sixth Main road, Srinivasa Nagar. They found a few people standing near a car and selling drugs. 

The police searched their belongings, including the car. About 5.5 grams of methamphetamine, 50 MDMA tablets, six mobile phones and a car were seized. 

The police have arrested five men, who have been identified as S.Sathosh Kumar, 32, of Pallikaranai; P. Rahulraj, 32 of Pallavaram; S. Manikandan, 34, and B. Jithesh, 22, of Anna Nagar West; and Bathru Suhail, 22, of Mangadu. They were remanded to judicial custody.
