Shillong: As part of continued public outreach across the state, chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday met and interacted with the residents of villages across Ranikor Block to engage with them and find solutions to their grievances.
During the interaction various issues were brought to light. Immediate solutions were arrived at for some in the presence of officials and heads of departments.
"For the complex issues, the chief minister directed the officials to timely redress the same," a statement issued by the CMO said.
The CM Connect held at Ranikor was the 6th such public outreach done by Sangma with the last one having been held at Nongstoin in Dec, 2024.
"Govt is of the people and initiatives like the CM Connect ensures accountability and efficiency of the govt machinery," the chief minister said.
The CM was accompanied by health and family welfare minister Ampareen Lyngdoh and other top govt officials during the interaction.
In Feb last year, CM Sangma had inaugurated the ambitious programme "CM-CONNECT" to enable citizens to connect with the govt. Through this platform, the citizens have access to a dedicated helpline no. 1971 to express their concerns and grievances, which are subsequently addressed.
As part of the programme, officials from different departments have been listed to address different concerns and grievances in a time bound manner. The citizens can also reach out to the government through social media channels, including WhatsApp.
