Jaipur: Ways to reduce fatalities in road accidents were discussed and practical training on basic life support techniques and CPR was imparted on police personnel, transport department employees and schoolchildren in a two-day capacity-building training programme at Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) that concluded on Thursday.
The programme, organised jointly by Rajasthan Police and the state transport and
road safety department, featured six sessions on the second day, focusing on discussions on road safety and solutions to related challenges. The second day's sessions began with an address by ADGP (SOG) VK Singh, who interacted with traffic personnel and students and shared insights into traffic safety, said RPA director S Sengathir. Singh also addressed queries raised by the students.
State nodal officer for road safety, LN Pandey, provided practical training on basic life support techniques and CPR in one of the sessions and discussed govt schemes for assisting accident victims. Shripal Yadav, senior director of NIC and state coordinator for e-transport services, highlighted Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) and Integrated Road Accident Database (IRAD) in the fifth session. He explained how advancements in road safety technology could help make roads safer nationwide.
RAS officer Mahaveer Singh offered suggestions on reducing fatalities in road accidents and improving road safety in the final session. Participants were encouraged to adopt best practices in both their daily lives and professional routines.
Deepak Bhargava, director of intelligence training, thanked all participants and organisers in the closing session.
