Woman attacked bypet dog, owner booked

Kanpur: A woman was attacked by a dog while she was passing through Hanumant Vihar area on a two-wheeler. The dog bit both her legs due to which she fell down and was injured. Upon confronting the dog's owner, she was met with verbal and physical aggression.
The police have registered a case against the owner on a complaint filed by the woman. The dog owner is absconding along with the dog.
The incident occurred on Jan 21 when Prachi Shukla, wife of Vikas Chaturvedi from Arra Bingawan, was returning after dropping her children at school. She told the police that she stopped her scooter near one Jaipal Singh's residence in Narayanpuri due to approaching traffic when Jaipal's dog attacked her. On being confronted, Jaipal allegedly responded with abuse and violence.
According to Jaipal's neighbours, the same dog had previously bit many other individuals. ADC South Mahesh Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered against the dog owner following Prachi's complaint. The police found the accused's house locked upon investigation. tnn
