Kota man alleges fraud in wife’s rly job selection
Kota: A man in Kota has alleged that his wife secured a job in the Indian Railways using a dummy candidate in the Group D recruitment exam and accused railway officials of inaction on his complaint. Speaking at a press conference, Thursday, Manish Meena claimed his wife, Sapna Meena, was selected with the help of a dummy candidate arranged by him through an agent for Rs. 15 lakh, which he raised by mortgaging his agricultural land.
Manish alleged that Sapna submitted an online application for the Group D exam conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Ajmer, in 2019. He further claimed that her photograph and signature on the application form were forged and that she cleared the exam, held in 2023, with the assistance of the dummy candidate. The agent, identified as Rajendra, a railway guard, facilitated the process.
After joining her job, Sapna reportedly lived with Manish for five months before separating, citing his unemployment and financial struggles. Manish said he filed complaints against Sapna, the agent, and the dummy candidate, Laxmi Meena, with the police and the Kota Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) office. However, he alleged no action was taken despite submitting supporting documents.
Responding to the allegations, senior divisional commercial manager (DCM) of Kota, Saurabh Jain, said, Thursday, Sapna Meena was suspended following a preliminary inquiry into the complaint. He refuted claims of inaction.
